the car park, located between via favéncia, carrer artesanía, carrer antonio machado and the main road guineueta vella, has been conceived as a tectonic substance that has formed a new topography, integrated within an urban block of public facilities and connected with the general green system of the district (collserola park and the park of the guineuta). The scheme has three main characteristics:
- a route through the urban block has been created and a new access to the sports facility. - the first platform has a 1m deep zone of soil that allows the planting of medium size trees. - the second platform has a harder treatment which allows a variety of uses including public spaces and external sports courts.
the principle objective of the project is to achieve the highest number of car parking spaces at the lowest cost possible and to achieve it with some urban quality. the following criteria have been considered in order to optimise resources:
- the organisation of the car park on three levels. - the optimisation of areas – four rows of parking and two lanes of circulation in a width of 30.2m. the three levels follow the same layout. - a prefabricated structure.
the stepped layout not only works with the slope of the land and allows the creation of landscaped platforms, but enables all of the floors of the car park to be naturally ventilated. the natural light filters down to the lowest level through some double height spaces or atriums that communicate with every floor.
